Connect to your Potential Energy…

To the athlete, food is energy and energy translates into performance. Athletes need to know how to tap into their potential energy for peak performance. The answer lies within...

We all have a natural rhythm of energy caused by the cycle of day and night. This is called Circadian Rhythm (View Chart) . The rate at which the body uses this energy is called Metabolism. By understanding the interface between circadian rythm and metabolism athletes can learn how to turn food into fuel to perform at a level they never imagined.

  1. As we wake our metabolism is at its lowest point for the day.
  2. The next 4-6 hours, metabolism increases at a steady incline.
  3. At 12 noon metabolism is at its highest point for the day.
  4. Between the hours of 1-3pm metabolism is at a pleateu.
  5. Between the hours of 3-5 metabolism begins to lower.
  6. From that point on there is a slow progression down until sleep.
